Summer is a time for vacationing and travel, and with that comes a large number of health risks. A newly updated version of the CDC Health Information for International Travel (“The Yellow Book”) is now available online to assist healthcare providers in preparing patients for trips overseas.

The 2018 edition of “the Yellow Book” contains the most up-to-date information on pre-travel vaccine recommendations, destination-specific advice, and other travel health guidelines. This revised version contains new information on:

- Emerging infectious diseases like Zika, Ebola, and MERS
- Cholera vaccine recommendations
- Antibiotic usage in the treatment of travelers’ diarrhea
- Guidance for specific types of travel, such as wilderness expeditions, work-related travel, and overseas studies
- Recommendations specific to popular destinations, including Cuba and Burma

The CDC has made Health Information for International Travel available online at [https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/yellowbook-home](https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/page/yellowbook-home) and in print through Oxford University Press.
